How do you ask a girl's phone number without seeming desperate or random?

The girl I barely talk to anymore b/c we met at a drama production I only see her in the hallway once a day sometimes not at all. Usually accompanied by a wave, smile, and hi. I know we like the same music I had given her a lot of CDs. I have nothing no e-mail, and both she and me don't have a myspace, facebook, or anything like that. Conversation starter tips ect....

How do you ask a girl's phone number without seeming desperate or random?
Well have you guys talked about wanting to see any movies or anything like that? If not, ask her if she likes any of the movies out look the hot ones now. Then say like "man I really want to see that one." when she says "me too" or whatever, then you say like "oh well we should go see it together."
Reply:Well, you should ask her for her number! Just try telling her that you two have something in common and would like to talk about it sometime! It shouldn't be hard, but she won't find you desperate! Go for it! You will be surprised!
Reply:Say "hey stranger (when you see her) and say hey whats your cell number so we can keep in touch, since we hardly see eachother anymore, (then you can throw in something like....) mind if I text (or call) you later?"
Reply:If you have something in common, wait until something you can share with her comes up and ask her out. You are practically half way there already.

It is a MAJOR TURNOFF for a guy to come up to you and say that.


She'll think you're some kind of psyco-stalker..
Reply:Say something like, "Hey Im late for class, but I really need to tlk 2 u about something (think of something important) so uh,,, you gotta number?" If she says yes, give her yours as well. but dont pre-write then hand it to her. Write it then and there.
