HELP questions about Charles Dawin and evolution?

I need some help. I am studying evolution and need i am confused about these questions. Please help : ]

Which statement is in agreement with Darwin's theory of natural selection?

a. more offspring are produced than can possibe survive

b. the organisms that are fittest are always the largest and strongest

c. the number of offspring is not realted to fitness

d. acquired characteristic that are inherited are the cause of evolution

Which factor would most likely disrupt genetic equilibrium in a large population?

a. production of large numbers of offspring

b.mating that is not random

c. the absense o movement into and out of the population

d. absense of mutations

sedimentary rock is formed from___

a. soft parts of organisms

b. hard parts of organisms

c. small particles of sand silt and clay

d. wood shell and bone

HELP questions about Charles Dawin and evolution?
1.) a. more offspring are produced than can possibe survive BUT, it's the variation of the characteristics in the offspring ("d") that may determine which survive and which don't.

2.) I would say b.mating that is not random - if females chose males that are larger, more colorful, louder, etc. it would perpetuate those traits over others that weren't selected in the offspring. But you would already have to have mutations in the population to produce those differences, so "d" also applies.

3.) c. small particles of sand silt and clay is the closest to being right, but it doesn't include all the possibilities (sand, precipitated chemicals)

After looking at these questions, I can see why you're confused!

2. b

3. b

I'm not sure about the 3rd one
Reply:i only know the first one which is A. more offspring are produced than can possibly survive.
